The Detoxification & Rejuvenation process
It is a comprehensive system of knowledge and practice to purify the body. It uses five purification techniques to detoxify the body via various external orifices using herbal and mineral preparations:|
As more people fall prey to the adverse effects of stress, there arise more complaints of illness such as digestive problems, lack of sleep, allergies, skin disorders, chronic fatigue,
musculo-skeletal pain as well as more serious conditions such as Cancer, Heart Disease, Diabetes, Osteoporosis, Arthritis etc.
- Nasya (nasal purification)
- Vamana (regurgitation)
- Virechana (purgation)
- Vasti (Herbal enema)
- Rakta Moksha (bloodletting done as a part of surgical procedure).
All of these diseases are complex disorders that arise as a result of toxins that accumulate in the body over time. The most deeply seated toxins that cause diseases are heavy and sticky and damaging to the tissue layers.
Panchakarma eliminates these toxins from the body, allowing healing of tissue channels for primary and secondary prevention of various illnesses and allow optimal functioning of digestive, mental and spiritual processes.
'Who' and 'Why' do we need Panchakarma?
Panchakarma is an extensive purification procedure which should be administered after careful evaluation of the patient's general health and body constitution.
It has no limitation regarding race or gender. The deposit of waste products in the channels of the body is a natural and normal physiological phenomenon.
Even in a person nourished by a wholesome and balanced diet, leading a healthy life without considerable stress and strain, the blood vessels may get glued with morbid matters.
Over time, this can lead to swelling and/or thickening of the muscular walls leading to the walls becoming rigid and incapable of performing their function of transporting blood to meet the requirements of the organs.
This can lead to excessive accumulation of vitiated Doshas which leads to obstruction of various body channels leading to the derangement of the functions of the organs.
How is Panchakarma different from other detoxification & rejuvenation therapies?
Panchakarma is not just a therapy; it is a combined science of healing touch and complex purification techniques using specific authentic Ayurvedic herbs for the body and mind.
Panchakarma is much more than just a massage. It is a therapeutic part of Ayurveda and a core part of an overall Ayurvedic treatment.
If performed under the guidance of a qualified practitioner, it serves to detoxify and rejuvenate the body, clearing specific body channels and enabling energy resource optimisation of the body.
It is highly effective in the prevention and control of various degenerative, inflammatory and chronic illnesses that occur in the body with time.
